How we workWhat is bespoke womenswear?
A garment drafted from scratch to your measurements and your choices — fabric, cut, length, neckline, every detail — then cut once, for you. Nothing is taken off a rail and altered; the pattern is yours.
How much does a TailorMe Woman piece cost?
It depends on the garment and the fabric. As a guide: shirts and blouses from R1,950, skirts from R2,800, dresses from R5,000, blazers from R6,500, two-piece suits from R8,500 and gowns from R9,500. You see a price band in the designer, and we confirm the quote at your consultation before anything is cut.
What fabrics can I choose from?
More than a thousand fabrics from different parts of the world — wools, silks, crêpes, linens, cottons, satins, laces and chiffons. Every swatch in the designer is a fabric we hold; you can handle them all in the studio.
How long does it take?
Four weeks from your measurements to the final fitting. Bridal and matric gowns need six to eight weeks. Tell us your date and we plan backwards from it.
How do you take my measurements?
In one of our studios — Johannesburg, Pretoria or Cape Town — by our expert tailor, in about thirty minutes. If you can't reach a studio, the designer's body-profile step lets you enter your measurements with our guide, and we confirm them at the first fitting.
How many fittings will I have?
Usually two: a first fitting on the basted garment, and a final fitting. Complex gowns may need a third. Fittings are included.
Can I design something that isn't in the designer?
Yes. The designers cover suits, blazers, shirts, blouses, skirts, dresses, gowns, coats, trench coats and tuxedos. For bridal, matric, corporate wear or leather — or anything else you have in mind — book a consultation and bring your ideas, photos or sketches.
Do you make for all shapes and sizes?
Yes. There are no sizes here — every pattern is drafted to one body. Petite, tall, plus, pregnant, or a shape you've never found in a shop: that's exactly what bespoke is for.
Can I bring my own fabric?
You can. We'll check that it suits the garment and tell you how much you need before you buy.
What if it doesn't fit?
We adjust it until it does — that's what the fittings are for. If a finished piece ever doesn't fit as agreed, we put it right at no cost.
